This week in Belfast The Morning Star pub famed for its beer, locally sourced food and live horse racing seven days a week launched a competition in the run up to Christmas to win a five percent share in a racehorse to be trained by County Antrim handler Stuart Crawford.
Owned by popular racehorse owners the McAllister family The Morning Star is located at the iconic Pottingers Entry in the heart of Belfast city centre. The competition is run through local club Realta Horse Racing with other prizes including a Horse Racing Ireland affiliated Stable Tour and a fifty pounds gift voucher that can be spent on food and drink in the upstairs restaurant.
Realta Horse Racing Club were in the Winner’s Enclosure earlier in the year at their local track Down Royal after winning the Tullyraine Equine Clinic National Hunt Flat Race on St Patricks Day with their first horse, the Presenting filly Danielle’s Journey. The club’s second horse A Touch Of Sparkle made its racecourse bow at the same track exactly one year after their debutant on the card of the JNwine.com Grade 1 Champion Steeplechase won by Don Cossack.
Realta have grown to three horses in training with Crawford Brothers Racing after purchasing a half-sister to their first winner at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale and aim to continue their growth in new season. The club recently announced a sponsorship deal with Downpatrick based Independent Financial Advisors McGrady Financial Services.
A Spokesperson for the club commented “Realta are delighted with the sponsorship deal in place with McGrady Financial and the competition run by The Morning Star. It gives us a platform to reach prospective members and gives our sponsor the opportunity to reach new clients”.
