Down Royal Festival Of Racing

Throngs of National Hunt fans will converge on County Down for the Down Royal Festival Of Racing. The County Down track will host its annual two day meeting with the highlight being the Grade 1 JNwine Champion Steeplechase won previously by horses such as Cheltenham Festival Gold Cup winner Looks Like Trouble, Hennessy Gold Cup winner Beef Or Salmon, Multiple King George winner Kauto Star and Florida Pearl who won the Hennessy and Punchestown gold Cup. This year’s renewal has attracted some of the biggest names in National Hunt racing and overall this is a festival not to be missed.

Our first runner Danielle’s Journey was narrowly behind on the line and was second by an official judgement of a short head. Danielle’s Journey went back to the St Patrick’s Day meeting at the track to win by four lengths and we hope that A Touch Of Sparkle can give a good account of herself at this years festival.

We congratulate Mike, Eileen, Molly, Caroline, Carson and the board on their relentless work to ensure a fantastic day out for racegoers – hard work that has been rewarded with a stellar line-up across the card.  We also extend our thanks to A Touch Of Sparkle’s shareowners who have paid for her journey to the racetrack. We hope that she can give an encouraging run and bring the curtain down on the festival and give her owners optimism for the season ahead.
